Graduation Picnic

Graduation and BBQ Picnic for Amigos Volunteers will be at Newt Hollow Picnic Area, Briones Park, Sunday, May 23 from 2:00 - 5:00pm. All family members welcome. The first half will be a picnic lunch followed by recognition of the volunteers.

Menu for the picnic lunch consists of:
BBQ'd Hamburgers and Veggie Burgers on Semi-Freddi buns provided by the Chapter.
Corn on the Cob provided by the Chapter.

Please bring your own non-disposable utensils – a plate, cup, fork, and perhaps a cloth napkin – for each member of your family and avoid plastic food containers.  We will provide compost and recycling bins, and hope to produce zero waste.  Given that many of our host countries have a problem with waste disposal and lack of recycling facilities, we feel that it is Amigos' responsibility to be good, creative role models in this regard.

We request that each team organize to bring the following items:
Sunday Afternoon Team:  Drinks and ice
Sunday Evening Team:  Lettuce, sliced tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, butter/margarine and sliced onions
Monday and Tuesday Teams: Dessert

We ask that each team provide two team members to arrive at 1:30 PM to assist in setting up the picnic tables, serving tables and barbequing the burgers.

NOTE:

1. If you did not get a cot at the chapter meeting, bring a check for $100 for a deposit on a cot

2. Mosquito nets will be available for purchase ($13, cash or check payable to Barbara Wille)

3. Bring your cameras!

From Highway 24 in Orinda: 
1) Take Highway 24 to the Orinda Village exit and head north on Camino Pablo Rd. which shortly becomes San Pablo Dam Rd; 2) Turn right at the stoplight onto Bear Creek Rd.; 3) Proceed beyond the Happy Valley Road intersection to the Bear Creek entrance on your right; and 4) Newt Hollow Picnic area is just inside the Park on your right. (Parking $4.00 per car in 2004)

From I-80 north of Richmond:
1) Take the San Pablo Dam Rd. exit and head east through town past the San Pablo Reservoir. 2) Turn left at the stoplight onto Bear Creek Rd.; 3) Proceed beyond the Happy Valley Road intersection to the Bear Creek entrance on your right; and 4) Newt Hollow Picnic area is just inside the Park on your right. (Parking is $4.00 per car)
