Come celebrate your country assignments! Festive attire requested.
Families are asked to bring food, your own beverage (with cups) and serving utensils for the potluck, ideally a Latin American cuisine, as follows:
Monday team: Desserts
Tuesday team: Salads/Appetizers
Sunday afternoon team: Main Courses (to feed 15 people)
Sunday evening team: Main Courses (to feed 15 people)
Two parents from each team should come at 3:30 PM and help setup. (Team Leaders, please coordinate who will arrive early to help set up.) At the end it would be helpful if everybody would put a hand into cleanup, taking down the tables and chairs, and setting the room back to its original configuration.
WE REQUEST THAT EACH FAMILY BRING THEIR OWN BEVERAGES, REUSABLE PLATES, CUPS, NAPKINS AND UTENSILS. Given that many of our host countries have a problem with waste disposal and lack of recycling facilities, we feel that it is Amigo's responsibility to be good, creative role models in this regard. Thank you. Please bring a large, round, cloth tablecloth if you have one.
We expect about 130 people, including Board members. Everyone will be asked to help clean up. For set up, we'd like one family from each team to arrive at about 3:30 to assist.
Don't forget to bring any donation checks you have received from your letter writing - with deposit sheets - with you along with any remaining proceeds from product sales.
Please keep in mind that ALL the project choices on your Assignment Preference Forms are possibilities - the International Office does not rank them 1 to 5 when matching volunteers with projects, but rather leaves them all as possible options. No matter where you go, your experience will be what it is! So again, let's stay positive and open-minded.
We plan to start the festivities AT 4:00pm so please be on time!
